Wayfinding with AI

What if you could get more precise guidance in natural language, distilled into an incredibly simple user interface? Michael Mofina and I explore how maps on AI powered hardware could present just the right level of guidance, enabled by a contextually aware wearable camera that sees what you see.

Harvest

AI guide to the tastiest fruits and vegetables. Harvest explores how a vision AI & AR interface can help identify the ripeness of produce. The fine-tuning slider helps to tailor suggestions to our unique taste, encouraging smarter shopping and fewer food waste.

2020 2022

Google

Tackling social connection through digital teleportation. Led a team exploring real time spatial computing products with the goal of blurring the line between digital and in person collaboration and co-presence. Our work can be seen in products from Google Meet, Project Starline, Labs AR/VR, and more.

2020

Graduated ArtCenter College of Design

Earned Master of Science in design.

Goldilocks AI and AR

Goldilocks explores how contextual computing and AI can reduce information overload. I believe we can create human computer interactions that feel calm or just right. Led by 8 guiding principles, Goldilocks emphasizes the value of technology that disappears.

Kitty Hawk

Kitty Hawk's mission was to alleviate congestion and enable quick urban hops using electric vertical take off crafts. I interned as an Industrial Designer at Flyer where I designed a next generation fuse — a novel form factor that optimized vehicle accessibility and safety for rideshare use.

Neu WatchOS

My design sketch explores how we can tactfully add depth and shadow to Apple Watch faces using an accelerometer, compass, and spatially aware motion user interface. Built in ProtoPie and Sketch.

2019

BMW

Tackling mobility safety and UX through natural user interfaces. I interned as a Future Mobility Designer where I had the opportunity to work on BMW’s ambient interface Shy Tech. I led a driver multitouch gestural UI exploration and collaborated with senior designers on projection user interfaces.

2018

Google Youniverse

Powered by your phone, Youniverse is a Google-sponsored exploration of an affordable mixed reality headset. We wanted to create an easy, fun, and effective tool for people to interact with their community and crowdsource local urban planning feedback.

Airport Rideshare

Air is a tailored autonomous rideshare project that explores how we can make better use of our time on the road en route to busy airports. The project ponders how rideshare services can collaborate with transit hubs to provide greater peace of mind for travel.

Urban Rover

Urban Rover is an autonomous home virtual reality project for the city professional. Through its mobile footprint Rover offers an alternative to traditional homes, providing life's comforts in a compact and dynamic footprint.

2017

JDoe

JDoe was an encrypted sexual violence reporting start up. As a member of the initial creation team, I built the product’s core user experience, information architecture, and interface. The app assisted survivors to anonymously report and identify repeat offenders, helping to build strong cases with civil lawyers while ensuring one’s privacy is protected.

Energy, Controls, and Applications Lab

Predictive battery modeling researcher for electric vehicles at UC Berkeley’s eCAL Lab led by Professor Scott Moura.

Graduated University of California, Berkeley

Earned Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

Super Mileage

Calsmv is UC Berkeley’s high efficiency vehicle team that races the Eco Marathon. As a member of Super Mileage programs since high school, I became team lead during my tenure at Calsmv and led the development of vehicle build and hardware integration.

2016

Benz Motorwagen

Kinematically animated model of the Benz Patent-Motorwagen. Built in Creo, rendered in 3DS Max, and edited in Final Cut Pro. Watch the film and explore the model in 360 degrees.

Babylon

Hyper-localized garden for the urban dweller. Intelligently farm home grown produce through hydroponics for your home or your local community space all the while minimizing your carbon footprint. A product management project.
